CREATIVE CRITICAL REFLECTION 4
The use of software and hardware in the process of making my project was very important and seemed crucial in order to produce something that I had in my mind from the start. At first I did not know how to bring my ideas into life and neither did I have any experience. But during my time hunting through the internet for options, I came across various different tools which could be used to create exactly what I wanted.
Hardware was one of the most important tools I used for making my Media blog. The hardware that I incorporated in the production of my magazine are my laptop and my mobile phone. Mobile Phone is an excellent example of a converged technology, a tool I used greatly to carry out research, to keep a record of my data, to contact my teacher for constant updates and reviews, to email correspondents etc. Secondly, my laptop was my constant best friend throughout the production process. You name it and I did it on my laptop. Whether it was editing pictures, learning different software, keeping a record of all my work or making my blog etc. everything was done using my laptop.
I made use of countless Software and applications to give my magazine a professional touch and to catch the audience’s eyes. First of all, I used Canva which is a very user-friendly app that assisted me during my entire production span. Not only did I use it to create my Preliminary Task pages but I even relied upon it completely for my Final Task pages. I also used it to create Mood Boards and various presentations for the evidence purposes. In addition to this, Pinterest was greatly used in order to choose my inspirational covers. This apps gave me tons of ideas to look up to. Apart from this, I made use of several editing applications which gave me the best possible images to grab the audience’s attention instantly.
With the rising trend of Internet, and rapid growth of technologies. Online Software’s have taken the media world by storm. Similarly, I used many online software’s to make my AS Media Studies Foundation Portfolio. For example, I used an online website named Coolors to build my colour schemes for the 3 Final Task pages. Most importantly, I used an online website named WIX to produce my blog. I uploaded all my work to it and got hang of it gradually. It is a user-friendly website and welcomes the beginners. Furthermore, I made use of Survey Monkey which is again an online platform to conduct surveys. This was one of the first apps that I used. I made the survey and emailed it to my fellows to gather responses, its best option is that it automatically analyses the responses in a percentage form which is quite helpful.
All the hardware, software and online applications were of great assist for this project and for all stages of production for my magazine.
